SJPR has worked with Carbondale Tourism since 2014 to raise the profile of this charming mountain town as a tourist destination for Front range/ Denver and national visitors, driving media coverage in targeted publications.
SJPR has worked to seed the Carbondale brand among travel writers: Carbondale was a lesser known mountain town to wider travel media. Working with industry and local partners, and by using tourism assets including cultural events, activities, new tourism-related businesses, Carbondale has started to develop a media hosting program in order to secure larger destination features.
There has been a 60% increase in coverage results and the destination now operates a media hosting program for destination features and review coverage. Carbondale also hosted its first group media fam in September 2016, developing a PR strategy to promote the town's Agritourism offerings and farm stays.
5Point Adventure Film Festival
“Life Imitates Art” adventure media fam trip for 5Point Adventure Film Festival, April 2016
The Brief: promote the 5Point Adventure Film Festival brand to travel, adventure and lifestyle writers to highlight the festival-going experience, outdoor recreation and promote the story of the filmmakers and their craft, as well as sponsors including Outdoor Research, NRS, Marble Distillery, YETI and Carbondale Tourism.
The Execution: SJPR pitched the festival to regional writers, offering an experiential weekend visit to attend the festival and participate in an itinerary supported by different festival sponsors. Eight media attended including writers from Outside Magazine, Adventure Journal, Gear Junkie, Men’s Journal, Elevation Outdoors, Summit Daily and 5280.
The Results: Media coverage was instantaneous, with all writers posting coverage within days of the event. More long-lead coverage is expected to coincide with the 2017 event. The media fam generated 1,605,419 coverage impressions within a week, with an estimated PR value of +$68,520.

SJPR handled community and media relations for Dancing Bear Aspen- A Timbers Private Residence Club- in the run-up to the launch of its second and final private residence club. One of the campaign highlights was launching Dancing Bear's "moving billboard" a charming and head-turning ETuk which serves as in town transportation and moving billboard.
